Nosda is one of the most popular brands in Malaysia, mainly selling latex mattresses. They have released two options and in this Nosda Max mattress review, I discuss their more premium offering. Nosda was created back in 2017 with the aim of producing affordable but high-quality mattresses.
Some time ago, I reviewed the Nosda Cloud mattress so I was really curious to see what the Max mattress had to offer. Both Nosda mattresses don’t feature any springs and they only feature foam layers. Mine was delivered almost ten days ago so it’s time now to move to the full review below.
What are the layers in this mattress?
The Nosda Max mattress is made of 4 layers plus the cover. In detail, these are:
- A natural latex layer that is infused with activated charcoal. This is the first support layer that has the ability to regulate heat. Moreover, activated charcoal helps with absorbing odour, germs, and moisture.
- A Luxe Evlon foam layer that is designed to eliminate pressure points. Moreover, this foam is designed to allow airflow.
- A 3-zone foam layer that helps with support. It’s designed to optimise weight distribution.
- A core support foam layer that is the base of this mattress. It’s designed to improve edge support, a common problem for most foam-only mattresses.
The Nosda Max mattress measures 25cm in height and the picture below shows the position of each layer.
How good is its cover?
The cover of this mattress is an interesting one. It’s made with IceSilk fabric which fights off heat retention so the sleeping surface can stay cool during the night. The good news is that this cover is removable and you can machine-wash it whenever that is needed. The design is a modern one featuring a white top part and a dark green bottom part. The cover feels soft and has a premium finish. Unfortunately, there are no moving handles and this is the only weakness here. Overall, this is a practical cover that does the job.
Is the Nosda Max mattress a firm one?
Let’s continue writing this Nosda Max mattress review and answer the above question. This mattress has a medium-firm feel so it will suit the average sleeper. If I use my virtual scale here, I would say it’s a 7 with 10 being really firm. I want to talk now about my experience with it for the past week.
Lying on my back, the Max mattress felt firm but at the same time quite comfortable. This is something that I liked and I felt that there were no pressure points on my back.
Turning to the side position, the mattress adjusted relatively fast and sinkage increased. Support remained good but I felt that my spine alignment was not 100% correct. Nothing too bad really but other mattresses did a better job in this position.
Finally, moving to the stomach position, the sleeping surface had an ideal firmness and I felt that this mattress is a dream option for front sleepers. Support was excellent and I was very comfortable sleeping this way.
What separates this mattress from the rest of the foam-only options is the great edge support. This is thanks to the core layer so you can use all 4 corners of the sleeping surface. Additionally, motion transfer is minimal so you won’t disturb your partner. This makes this mattress a good choice for couples.
Will I pay for delivery?
If you decide to buy a Nosda mattress, you will get free nationwide delivery. They offer a relatively fast service that usually takes between 3-5 days. This is impressive and not all makers offer this kind of service. The mattress will arrive inside a carton box and all you have to do is take it out and unroll it. I live in Kuala Lumpur and it only took 3 days for me to receive my mattress. Nosda emailed me with the details and the courier was prompt and polite. Overall, this was a pleasant experience for me so no complaints at all.
Is there a trial period?
Most boxed mattresses come with a trial period and the Nosda Max is no exception. They actually offer a 100-night trial period that gives you more than 3 months to try this at home. If you are not satisfied with it, you have the right to return it and get a full refund. The process is not a complicated one and the people at Nosda will sort everything for you. I have to mention here that is not mandatory to keep the original packaging to be able to complete a return.
Furthermore, all Nosda mattresses come with a 10-year warranty that will cover you for a long time. This is the norm these days with all the boxed mattresses. Overall, this is a complete package that is a good compliment for this mattress.
How much will this mattress cost me?
The Max mattress is an affordable option and it’s available in 4 sizes. The smaller one (Single) sells for RM1,699 while the bigger one (King) goes for RM3,199. However, this is a maker that runs frequent promotions so you will definitely pay less than the retail price. To check the latest offers, visit my coupon page.
